Deep Freeze Christmas by Marian P Merritt

Book Blurb:
Louisiana Chef Leona Buquet agrees to cook for CG Fleming Jr, movie producer at his mountain lodge in the Colorado Mountains during the Christmas holiday.
When Leona meets handsome Cameron, CG's son, she is taken by his striking good looks and warm personality, but with the glamorous actress, Marissa Madison, clamoring for his attention will he even notice Leona?
Cameron struggles with being in a career he hates only to please his father. When he meets Leona he feels he's known her all his life. He wants an opportunity to get to know her, but she keeps avoiding him. When they become stranded in a hunter's cabin, will she lower her guard and open her heart to Cameron?

How we celebrate Christmas?

Because we live so far away from family and in high elevation (6500ā€™) travel is not always an option for us. We we do travel, we either visit my family in Louisiana or my husbandā€™s family in Kansas. When we visit my family, we meet at my momā€™s house with my brother and his wife and my sister and niece. My mom starts cooking at about 8:00 am. Her table is filled with many Cajun dishes. Usually a chicken and sausage gumbo or pork stew, duck, ham, potato salad, green beans (or some other type of vegetable) and whatever else she decides to cook! Thereā€™s usually two or three desserts as well. We open presents before Christmas dinner then enjoy the feast then everyone pitches in to clean up. Afterward we visit.

Phooey Kerflooey: Three Kids And A Puppy vs The Squirrel Of The Apocalypse by Kristen Joy Wilkes

Kristen says "Once upon a time, our family of three young boys welcomed a princess into our home. A furry princess, a princess who ended up weighing more than they did, was terrified of haybales and bags of chicken feed, and refused to drink out of anything but her own special mug. Our boys were charmed by their puppy princess and asked that I write a story based on her. It took me seven years, but finally I present to you  Phooey Kerflooey ! While our own boys delighted in Princess Leia Freyjaā€™s scaredy-cat antics and princess ways, the boys in the story take a bit longer to appreciate Phooeyā€™s gifts. However, I pray that you will enjoy their journey together as they battle the squirrel of the apocalypse and search for perfect peace amidst a storm of chaos. " And I loved this one. It's gone straight back into the TBR pile. A puppy will fix everything.  A boring new house?  Boring house + puppy = adventure!    An attacking squirrel?  Evil squirrel + puppy =...
