REview: Future Savior 4: Desecration by Jennifer Hartz

Blurb:
Charis' latest time paradox has left me staggering. The history of Meric is being unraveled right before my eyes. While some unimaginable questions are being answered, even more start to creep up. Will we make it out of this place alive? Will we make it back to Meric in time to stop Leticia and save our friends? Will I ever marry Shaw, the man of my dreams?

I guess only time holds the answers to these questions. Considering I'm not even in my own time, I'm not so sure anymore. One thing I do know is I never would have thought Meric's origins would have been in this place.

Excerpt:

Boiled Fruit Cake - the recipie

Boiled Fruit Cake

Defies all known cake baking skills known to man. Or woman.
12oz mixed dried fruit 4oz glace cherries 8oz marg 8oz soft brown sugar 10oz self raising flour 1 large tablespoon marmalade 3 eggs
1.Light oven gas mark 2/150C/300F
2.Put fruit into pan and cover with water. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
3. Put ALL other ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Yes, you read that right. Put the flour, marg,  sugar, marmalade and eggs into the bowl at the same time and mix. Trust me. It works.
4. Strain the fruit and tip into the cake mix
5. Stir well.
6. Tip into greased and lined 8inch cake tin.
7. yes i know my pic isn't round. I made 4 littler ones this time. The mix does that.
8. Bake in oven for 2½ to 3hrs. Or if making the 4 smaller ones roughly 45-50 mins.
9. Test with skewer and then cool in tin upside down on a wire rack for 15mins before taking the tin off to
finish cooling.

Lori's Redemption by Pamela S. Thibodeaux

Blurb:
Lori Strickland (introduced in Tempered Fire) has always been known as her father's "wild child" with no desire to change until she meets ex-bull-rider-turned-preacher Rafe Judson. Her attempts to change her wanton ways come to naught until she realizes redemption only comes with true repentance.

Review:
Horses, cowboys, preacher man, cowboy, rodeo, cowboy... Did I mention this book has cowboys in it? Seriously, what is there not to love about this new story from Ms. Thibodeaux. This short read has 59 action pack pages that will pull you in with a lasso and not let you go til you turn the last of them. We catch up with Lori from Tempered Fire and meet Rafe, a famous rodeo rider, who  changes his career after an accident. Fast paced, lots of action, gripping storyline... I loved it. It's gone straight back into my TBR pile.
