Meet the author - Kristen Joy Wilks

What was the most surprising thing you learned about yourself as you wrote this book? My main character is a helper and she is always "helping" people far more than they really want. She has a habit of purchasing new pets for folks that are impractical to their living circumstances, such as circus donkey's or bald rats. Through the course of the story, she learns that her help really does come from the Lord. While I would never purchase a bald rat for an unwilling pet owner, I discovered that I show others that I care by cooking for them. Strangely, some folks don't care about food and so I realized that just like Shelby and her bald rats, there are times I need to find new ways to show my love. Were you an avid reader as a child? What did you read? I loved to read as a girl and devoured Black Stallion books and Nancy Drew mysteries at light speed! How does your faith affect your writing? My faith helps me to create a believable inner story arc for my characters as

Island Charm by Audrey Wick

When Anna Worthington's twin sister gets jilted by her fiancé, Anna steps in with a plan for a girls' Key West getaway instead of a honeymoon trip. Yet when her twin has her own crisis of commitment and doesn't board the plane, Anna finds herself on a romantic getaway that she's forced to navigate alone. Gunnar Lockhart, whose specialty is island tourism, is the perfect match for helping Anna complete her vacation bucket list, but time together forges a connection more personal than either anticipate. As they make island memories, Anna has to untangle her mixed emotions. Are her feelings toward Gunnar real? Or like her sister's wedding day, has this connection been doomed from the start?   Now, here’s an exclusive excerpt to give everyone a sneak peek. This scene focuses on a bucket list that the main character has to complete as the novel unfolds.   Anna threw back the covers and swung her legs to the side of the mattress. As she stood, a slip of paper peered at

Today we have a post by author Audrey Wick. Her new book Island Charm has just released. I'm part way through reading it and will have another post to go up when I'm finished. :) Are you getting ready for summertime? I love the warmer weather and breezy evenings, which my characters also experience in my latest book, ISLAND CHARM. I’m excited to share this standalone novel with readers that’s a perfect beach book—so even for people who can’t physically travel, they can enjoy a getaway through this book!   ISLAND CHARM is a contemporary romance set mostly in Key West, Florida. In it, Anna Worthington takes the tropical honeymoon intended for her twin sister and her fiancé . . . because her twin has been jilted at the altar. An airport mix-up leaves Anna alone in this island paradise, and that’s where she meets handsome Gunnar Lockhart, an island local with a heart of gold. Romance is the last thing on her mind, but when she starts falling for Gunnar, she has to untangle her
