Time's Arrow

Blurb:

Touching a milestone, Jonni Peterson is catapulted through time into a world both familiar and strange. Finding herself in Victorian England, she discovers love in the most unexpected placeā€” at the feet of the man whose carriage knocked her down.

Lord Sebastian Tyler needs to remarry, but preferably not a woman of his motherā€™s choosing. The woman his carriage runs over both irritates and fascinates him. Could she be the answer to his prayers?

Will the arrow of love find them both before time runs out and the portal to the present reopens?

Extract:

Jonni twisted her head to the left. A young girl of no more than fifteen, wearing a rag cap over her blonde hair, got up and ran from the room. She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could say anything, a girl with dark curls started speaking again.

"My nameā€™s ā€˜Attie, miss. Now donā€™ yer go movinā€™ or nothinā€™ til tā€™masterā€™s bin anā€™ sent for tā€™doctor. Yer took a nasty bang tā€™noggin under them ā€˜orses ā€˜ooves anā€™ been asleep for nigh on tā€™whole day."

Jonni rubbed her head, wishing the girl wasnā€™t speaking in such a broad dialect. "Horses? I donā€™t remember any horses."

"According to my driver you all but threw yourself under them, madam. He was hard pressed to stop." The distinctly suave male voice, haughty and disapproving, came from the doorway.

Jonni twisted to look toward the voice. Her eyes widened at the vision of perfect manhood that strode over to the bed, his hands clasped behind his back. His form fitting breeches, shirt, waistcoat, and tail coat showed off his slender figure to perfection. But, why was he in fancy dress? Had she missed a costume party?

Long black hair framed his face and fathomless brown eyes stared down at her as his baritone voice rang out again. "What did you think you were doing running out into the road like that, madam? You could have been killed."

I can't wait to pick up my copy of this one. I love time travel stories and Victorian era settings, so this is pretty much my idea of the perfect escape :)

Phooey Kerflooey: Three Kids And A Puppy vs The Squirrel Of The Apocalypse by Kristen Joy Wilkes

Kristen says "Once upon a time, our family of three young boys welcomed a princess into our home. A furry princess, a princess who ended up weighing more than they did, was terrified of haybales and bags of chicken feed, and refused to drink out of anything but her own special mug. Our boys were charmed by their puppy princess and asked that I write a story based on her. It took me seven years, but finally I present to you  Phooey Kerflooey ! While our own boys delighted in Princess Leia Freyjaā€™s scaredy-cat antics and princess ways, the boys in the story take a bit longer to appreciate Phooeyā€™s gifts. However, I pray that you will enjoy their journey together as they battle the squirrel of the apocalypse and search for perfect peace amidst a storm of chaos. " And I loved this one. It's gone straight back into the TBR pile. A puppy will fix everything.  A boring new house?  Boring house + puppy = adventure!    An attacking squirrel?  Evil squirrel + puppy =...
