Love in a Lifeboat by Karen Malley

Blurb:

Jan Richardson doesn't need anyone—especially not God. She's built a successful career all on her own, and that's enough. So what if everyone around her is in love? She's smart, successful, and just earned a two-week cruise to prove it. The only problem? Kyle Richardson, her arrogant coworker and biggest competition for a promotion, is on the same cruise.

Kyle Richardson has dated lots of girls, but none of the relationships lasted. He's found his way back to God and he's looking for forever. When his job sends him on a cruise with the girl who shares his last name, sparks fly. But with his dating history and her insecurities, is there any chance for them to sail away to happiness?

Excerpt:

“Congratulations, Jan!”

Jan whirled around in her desk chair to find her coworker Emily, her face lit with excitement. Emily was always excited about something. “What for?”

Emily practically bounced on her toes, clearly thrilled she knew something Jan didn’t. “Haven’t you heard? You won!”

Jan’s heart thudded in her chest. She stood and grabbed Emily’s arm. “No way! The cruise? Are you serious?”

Emily’s head bobbed up and down. “The email just came out. I can’t believe you didn’t read it.”

“I was in the middle of a project.” A project that wouldn’t get finished any time soon if Emily was telling the truth. “I never thought my concepts would be good enough, so I almost forgot about it.” Jan sat back in her chair and clicked open the email. Sure enough, there it was in black and white. The two winners of the cruise. Janice Richardson and Kyle Richardson. Her heart dropped. Not Kyle. No. Anyone but Kyle.

Emily leaned over Jan’s shoulder, close enough that the scent of her citrus shampoo tickled Jan’s nose. “How weird is it that the two people who won share the same last name? Are you related to him?”

Jan rolled her eyes before turning back to Emily. She’d been asked that question no less than a dozen times since he started at the agency. “No. Richardson is a common last name. In a company of 500 people, it’s not unusual there would be more than one person with the same last name.”

Emily tucked her hair behind her ear. “Guess that makes sense. Do you know him?”

Oh, she knew him alright. Well enough to know they wouldn’t spend two minutes together on the cruise.

Short bio:

Karen Malley writes Christian fiction with heart, humor, and just enough plot twists to keep you guessing. But don’t worry—she promises a happy ending. By day, she’s a scientist solving real-world problems; on weekends she writes about fictional ones. When she’s not dreaming up new ways to make her characters’ lives interesting, Karen enjoys hiking, reading, and baking things that miraculously don’t turn into science experiments.

A proud left-hander, Karen lives in Pennsylvania with her amazing husband and two sons, all of whom tolerate her habit of narrating life as if it were a novel. A lover of Jesus, peanut butter, and board game nights, Karen believes the best stories are the ones full of hope, faith, and happily-ever-afters.

A Stalker To Die For by Katy Eeten

A Stalker to Die For by Katy Eeten I began writing this book at least ten years ago. But as often happens, I hit a writing roadblock and put the manuscript to the side. At the time, I wasn’t sure how to make the plot more intriguing or how to give the story a satisfying conclusion. Instead, I focused my efforts on writing five different contemporary Christian novels and novellas over the past several years. But something kept drawing me back to this storyline, so I knew I had to finish it. A Stalker to Die For was my first attempt at adding suspense into the mix—and it was easier said than done! But I finally completed it. And thanks to a great editor, this book guides readers through a variety of emotions while walking the line between romance, faith, and a suspenseful thrill or two. Son of the Mountain King by O.R.Sykora

Blurb:  When an invasion threatens the land of the Mountain King, the fate of the people rests on the shoulders of young governor Judah. She has sworn to prove herself a skillful leader by protecting her kingdom from foes, but difficulty and danger surround her.   Then Judah’s life is saved by two different men who divide her loyalty. One, a fascinating healer, captures the hearts of Judah and her people. The other, a mysterious shepherd, forces Judah to question what she believes to be true.   When a conspiracy comes to light that could destroy Judah and her kingdom, a single choice might cost her people everything. Will the headstrong leader prove herself—or find herself trapped? Extract:    This was always my favorite part.   At a signal, a few young men stepped forward bearing beautifully ornamented boxes. The wood was intricately carved with mountain settings and animals, with graceful accents of gold and precious stones. The first young ma...
