See How They Run / See How They Hide by Clare Revell

Both of the new Ellery/York books are now out in the big wide world. See How They Run came out on May 24, followed by the sequel See How They Hide on June 7.

I would have posted sooner, but a hand injury prevented my typing for several weeks, But now, a month after surgery, all is back to normal.

The Headley Cross marathon has been held every year since it was founded in 1983. This time, as well as the full run, a half marathon is being offered, and preparations are well under way.

DS Zander Ellery and DC Isabel York have a hectic caseload and could well do without the squad having to run the marathon. When the race is threatened, they and the other members of the MIU/Major Crimes are tasked with neutralizing the threat.

As the day of the race draws near, with ten thousand runners due to take to the streets, time to find the culprit is running out. Lives are at stake, and Ellery and York must succeed in winning this race.

As the town reels from a bombing, the death toll rises. The search begins for those responsible. Every officer involved in the pursuit is either injured or negatively affected. DS Zander Ellery must assume command of the cross-county task force and lead the hunt.

Seriously injured, DC Isabel York, must fight for her place on the squad rather than the hospital bed she should actually occupy. Both she and Zander are coping with personal losses, which makes it difficult to stay detached and professional.

Time is running out as everything comes tumbling down around them. Can they catch those responsible, before it' s too late?

Phooey Kerflooey: Three Kids And A Puppy vs The Squirrel Of The Apocalypse by Kristen Joy Wilkes

Kristen says "Once upon a time, our family of three young boys welcomed a princess into our home. A furry princess, a princess who ended up weighing more than they did, was terrified of haybales and bags of chicken feed, and refused to drink out of anything but her own special mug. Our boys were charmed by their puppy princess and asked that I write a story based on her. It took me seven years, but finally I present to you  Phooey Kerflooey ! While our own boys delighted in Princess Leia Freyjaā€™s scaredy-cat antics and princess ways, the boys in the story take a bit longer to appreciate Phooeyā€™s gifts. However, I pray that you will enjoy their journey together as they battle the squirrel of the apocalypse and search for perfect peace amidst a storm of chaos. " And I loved this one. It's gone straight back into the TBR pile. A puppy will fix everything.  A boring new house?  Boring house + puppy = adventure!    An attacking squirrel?  Evil squirrel + puppy =...
