Island Charm by Audrey Wick

When Anna Worthington's twin sister gets jilted by her fiancé, Anna steps in with a plan for a girls' Key West getaway instead of a honeymoon trip. Yet when her twin has her own crisis of commitment and doesn't board the plane, Anna finds herself on a romantic getaway that she's forced to navigate alone.

Gunnar Lockhart, whose specialty is island tourism, is the perfect match for helping Anna complete her vacation bucket list, but time together forges a connection more personal than either anticipate. As they make island memories, Anna has to untangle her mixed emotions. Are her feelings toward Gunnar real? Or like her sister's wedding day, has this connection been doomed from the start?

Now, here’s an exclusive excerpt to give everyone a sneak peek. This scene focuses on a bucket list that the main character has to complete as the novel unfolds.

Anna threw back the covers and swung her legs to the side of the mattress. As she stood, a slip of paper peered at her from the half open suitcase that was still in disarray from the night before.

She bent down, plucked the paper by the corner, and read the words.

Top Five Goals for Key West

·         Eat key lime pie.

·         Watch the sunset.

·         Sail on the water.

·         Collect seashells.

·         Lounge on the beach

Brie’s handwritten wishes choked Anna with homesickness. These simple pleasures were her bucket list for the vacation she had wanted to enjoy.

So for readers who want a beach escape, this novel is a great opportunity! I hope readers enjoy the escapism.

Now, here’s a question for everyone to share: WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE VACATION? Share it in the comments feature below so we can all enjoy a bit of armchair traveling.

My review:

This book really does sweep you away to a nice, hot sunny beach. Anna begins totally out of her depth when she goes on her twin's honeymoon. Alone. However it's not long before she is literally bumping into Gunnar and some of the Key Lime Pie this part of Florida is famous for. Toss in a bucket list of things to do, an old man in need of some help, and this book is unputdownable.
