The Curious Prayer Life of Muriel Smith - Carol Raj

One unlocked car door, one glance to the left, and suddenly impoverished retiree Muriel Smith is hurtling down the road at an alarming thirty miles per hour!

Will the teenage carjacker really shoot to kill? Muriel can't die yet. Not until she's accomplished something to make her daughter proud. Not until she's seen her great-grandchild, the unborn baby her granddaughter isn't sure she wants to keep.

It seems Muriel is running out of time. Especially if her survival depends on her driving skills!

Muriel and her carjacker find themselves on a wild adventure that has them both falling "victim" to Muriel's curious prayer life.

I LOVED this book. Yes that's loved all in capital letters. This is an amazing story. All Muriel asked God for was someone to mow her lawn. She didn’t quite get the answer she was expecting. At least not the way she wanted it. So nice to see a story where the heroine is much older, with real aches and pains and needs. Carol Raj has a fantastic way with words, creating a page turner of a story and one I didn't want to end.

Find out in Keri’s Christmas Wish

Excerpt: She turned to face him, took his hands in hers and stood on tiptoe to brush her lips across his. “Thank you. I’ll bet you do wondrous work with your patients. You sure have made me feel better.”

He caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. “I’m not the Healer, love, just the vessel. Not the Source of Wisdom, only the messenger.”

Keri’s insides turned to mush at his use of the term ‘love…

Christmas, Yes!
Christmas is a wonderful time of year—the most wonderful if the song can be trusted. From Thanksgiving to December 25th, we overload the DVR with Christmas movies.Carols, albeit beautiful, are played exhaustively, and we regale the traditions of family and all manner of wonderful things.Even for Christians, the holiday has become so commercialized and sappy (don’t get me wrong, I love a good dose of sap every now and again—my DVR is full) that we sometimes forget that Christmas brings with it some serious messages we shouldn’t forget. One of those messages is the importance of saying, “Yes” to God, even when we don’t know what consequences will come because of it—or even when we do know.
We’ve heard the annunciation story: once upon a time an angel came to Mary; she said yes. Joseph wasn’t convinced until he received his own angelic visit, and then everything was ab-fab until there was no room at the inn and the baby Jesus was relegated to the barn…
And they all lived hap…

They are both in their sixties, mature, but still fun loving and willing to do new things. But then life doesn't end at forty, fifty or sixty. We are never to old to find love for the first or second time.

A romance 48 years in the making...

Dragged half way across the world by his parents, the only contact Oliver Voight has with his native England is his friend Matt’s kid sister, who keeps him up to date with her rambling, winsome letters.

When Connie Falcon promises her brother’s best friend she will keep in touch, she has no idea where that assurance will lead. But Connie always keeps her promises, so forty-eight years later, she is still writing.

As the years have flown past, both of them have been transformed into different people by what life has thrown at them. When they finally meet face to face, …
