Christmas books from Pelican Book Group

I have read most of the 2025 releases now and had meant to post this at the beginning of December and now it's January. But better late than never. Christmas may be over, but it's never too early or late to dive in to one of these amazing stories.

What if the wrong turn leads to the love you’ve always prayed for?

Aimee Perkins dreams of love, but her small Ohio town offers little hope—until she meets Max online. His charm sweeps her off her feet, and she agrees to meet him for a Christmas Eve service in the West Virginia mountains. But before she leaves, she rescues Chester, a senior service dog facing euthanasia, and brings him along for the ride.

When a blizzard strands her on a lonely mountain road, Aimee’s fairy-tale date turns into a nightmare: Max’s number is disconnected, his profile deleted, and her car is buried in snow. Cold, scared, and alone, she prays for a miracle—only to be found by Marty Frazier, a kind-hearted mountain man with a heart as warm as the fire in his cabin.

Marty’s been praying for love too. But Aimee’s been burned before, and trust doesn’t come easy—even when Chester works his own kind of magic. As Christmas unfolds, Aimee must decide: Is Marty the answer to her prayers, or is she too afraid to take a leap of faith?

A heartwarming Christian romance about trust, divine timing, and the miracles that find us when we least expect them—perfect for fans of holiday love stories, rescue dogs, and mountain men who believe in second chances.

Holy Grounds runs on two things: the nutty, caramel scent of coffee and Sebastien Davenport’s beloved cranberry-gingerbread muffins.

When the pastry chef collapses days before Christmas, owner Bridgette Calloway faces an impossible morning rush and an even harder truth: the beloved chef she’s leaned on may need her more than ever.

When a frightening diagnosis upends Seb’s independence and he’s at his lowest, it’s his boss he finds himself calling. Perhaps she’s more than a boss after all… Bridgette shows up with a Bible, Chinese takeout, and the solid courage he didn’t know he needed. In the hush of winter and a kitchen dusted with flour and light, their friendship warms into something deeper. But fear, pride, and new limitations could cost them more than a holiday menu.

As carols ring and candlelight glows, Bridgette and Seb are thrust into uncharted territory and must make a choice. Will they retreat into safety, or put their trust in the God who writes love stories in unexpected places like a coffee sleeve, a baker’s bench, and prayer whispered over racks of cooling pastries?

Can love and faith overcome the shadows of the past?

Pink Rainwater has spent her life running—from her childhood in a storage unit, from the stalker who won’t let go, and now from the doubt that she’ll ever be enough. Moving back to Nebraska to be near her mother and sister should feel like safety. Instead, it feels like one more place she doesn’t belong, especially when everyone around her talks about a God she’s not sure she trusts.

Bowie Miller is a man of strong faith and stronger convictions, always fighting for the underdog. When his best friend’s future sister-in-law arrives in Lincoln, he offers to help, partly as a favor, partly to quiet the guilt of a past failure he can’t outrun. But the more he learns about Pink’s fragile strength and stubborn independence, the harder it is to keep his distance. She’s an unbeliever. He’s vowed to protect her. And the line between duty and desire is blurring fast.

When threatening notes and a stalker’s shadow force them closer, Bowie’s determination to shield Pink clashes with her resistance to faith...and to love. As Christmas nears, Pink must decide: Is she willing to trust the God Bowie believes in, or will fear keep her running forever?

A gripping Christian romance about redemption, trust, and the love that meets you in the dark. Perfect for fans of faith-filled suspense, enemies-to-lovers, and stories where grace changes everything.

Phooey Kerflooey: Three Kids And A Puppy vs The Squirrel Of The Apocalypse by Kristen Joy Wilkes

Kristen says "Once upon a time, our family of three young boys welcomed a princess into our home. A furry princess, a princess who ended up weighing more than they did, was terrified of haybales and bags of chicken feed, and refused to drink out of anything but her own special mug. Our boys were charmed by their puppy princess and asked that I write a story based on her. It took me seven years, but finally I present to you  Phooey Kerflooey ! While our own boys delighted in Princess Leia Freyja’s scaredy-cat antics and princess ways, the boys in the story take a bit longer to appreciate Phooey’s gifts. However, I pray that you will enjoy their journey together as they battle the squirrel of the apocalypse and search for perfect peace amidst a storm of chaos. " And I loved this one. It's gone straight back into the TBR pile. A puppy will fix everything.  A boring new house?  Boring house + puppy = adventure!    An attacking squirrel?  Evil squirrel + puppy =...

Can Phooey find her courage and chase that bad squirrel out of their lives forever? Maybe tomorrow. Or the day after that. For sure by next week. Phooey will be very brave . . . someday. Theme verse: Isaiah 32:18--My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.
