Lullaby in Lone Creek by Mary Manners

blurb:
In eight seconds Dalton Merrill's professional bull riding days—and the fame he enjoyed—ended. When the adrenaline-junkie returns to Lone Creek Ranch to heal, he discovers a single reckless romp with sweet Emilee Walker has left her with more than a little heartbreak. She’s carrying his child. The last thing he wants is to be tied down with a wife and a son.

Emilee Walker trusted Dalton with her heart, and he left her for the rodeo. She wanted Dalton to return home, but not like this. Now she wonders if it's responsibility or love that holds him on Lone Creek. This time she vows to show him what family ties and faith in God really means.

review:
5/5 stars
Fantastic scenery combine with true to life characters in this, the second of the Lone Creek stories, Ms. Manners has once again crafted a story that tugs at the heart strings and isn't afraid to hit real life issues head on. Throughout it's pages, the undercurrent of God's love and guiding hand, is evident. As is the fact that when we feel abandoned by everyone God is still there.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to everyone.

Meet the Hero

Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself? I'm Dalton Merrill, expert bull rider. I was on my way to the top of the circuit when I got tossed by Rough Ride and nearly severed my fingers. It's a shame, because it was the best eight second run I've ever had--and the last.

Tell us about where you live and why you choose to live there? I came home to Lone Creek Ranch to doctor my hand and to help my brother, Carson, run the place. I didn't know I'd find Emilee here...or that she'd be pregnant with my son.

What is a quirk of your personality that most people wouldn't know? I can talk a horse off a cliff if I wanted to...not that I'd ever want to.

What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to reach your Happily-ever-after? I've learned to make God the center of my life. Given that, everything else falls into place.

Tell us about your special lady. What makes her special? Emilee Walker...whoa. She's the most beautiful, intelligent and exasperating woman I've ever laid eyes on. But she captured my heart, and I'm the luckiest man in chaps.

The first time you saw her, what did you think? Did you like her immediately, or did she have to grow on you? Wow, have you heard of love at first sight? Well, I was struck by it in high school--by Em. I tried to fight it for sure, because the bulls were calling my name. But I failed miserably. I just can't say no to my sweet Emilee.

And now some silly questions.

Escape to Whispering Creek by Barbara M Britton

“Escape to Whispering Creek” Barbara M. Britton   Thanks for having me on the blog again, Clare. Today is my launch day for “Escape to Whispering Creek.” Paperback fans will have to wait until October 31 st  to get their hands on Emma and Wade’s story. Readers will be able to head back to my Tennessee town with Emma. When Emma’s life implodes, she drives to see her bestie Sam in Whispering Creek. Emma hopes to get a job and make some money, but she never expects to fall in love with grumpy Wade. Samantha and Cole from “Christmas at Whispering Creek” return in this story, but “Escape” can be read as a standalone novel.   Book blurb: Emma Uranova enjoys her office job until her boss disappears with the investors' money. To avoid the media storm and false accusations, Emma flees to Whispering Creek, Tennessee to live on her best friend' s secluded property. When a temporary position opens up in Nashville, Emma leaves small-town anonymity to pad her depleted bank account. Wit...

Phooey Kerflooey: Three Kids And A Puppy vs The Squirrel Of The Apocalypse by Kristen Joy Wilkes

Kristen says "Once upon a time, our family of three young boys welcomed a princess into our home. A furry princess, a princess who ended up weighing more than they did, was terrified of haybales and bags of chicken feed, and refused to drink out of anything but her own special mug. Our boys were charmed by their puppy princess and asked that I write a story based on her. It took me seven years, but finally I present to you  Phooey Kerflooey ! While our own boys delighted in Princess Leia Freyja’s scaredy-cat antics and princess ways, the boys in the story take a bit longer to appreciate Phooey’s gifts. However, I pray that you will enjoy their journey together as they battle the squirrel of the apocalypse and search for perfect peace amidst a storm of chaos. " And I loved this one. It's gone straight back into the TBR pile. A puppy will fix everything.  A boring new house?  Boring house + puppy = adventure!    An attacking squirrel?  Evil squirrel + puppy =...
