The Rough and Ready Devotional by Kirsten Joy Wilks

“Have I told you about the time I rode a wild burro?” “There was this man who had himself a house inside a tree stump . . .” “There didn’t used to be so many safety rules. When the back wall behind our wood stove got to smoking, my father would just toss a bucket of water on it . . .” “My sister was a terrible prankster. One time, she pulled a trick on our father that was like to get him killed . . .” I grew up in a family of storytellers. When I set out to write a collection of devotionals for children, I ended up with a whole passel of rough and rowdy family tales. However, each and every one taught me something amazing about God. So, saddle up your pony (even though she bites), grab a cup of tea, and a homemade cinnamon roll, and let me tell you a tale that leads to God! Amazon UK   Amazon US

Can Phooey find her courage and chase that bad squirrel out of their lives forever? Maybe tomorrow. Or the day after that. For sure by next week. Phooey will be very brave . . . someday. Theme verse: Isaiah 32:18--My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. My review:  Phooey is back in this wonderful story of the puppy v the battle squirrel. Havi...
