How to charm a beekeeper's heart by Candice Sue Patterson

Weddings are the last thing beekeeper Huck Anderson wants to be associated with, considering his past. So when he inherits a building occupied by a bridal boutique, he aims to evict the failing business and open a sporting goods store. That is until his tenant ends up being Arianne Winters, a woman he’s indebted to from a mistake made years ago. When a life-threatening injury derails Huck entirely, Arianne offers a compromise to keep her boutique and her life out of bankruptcy—she’ll aid in his lengthy recovery if he’ll allow her to remain in his building. But nursing her adversary proves challenging when her adolescent crush resurfaces. Amidst a battle-of-wills, their lives intertwine in unexpected ways, providing opportunity to overcome their pasts and start anew. Will this confirmed bachelor consider holy-matrimony, or will Huck’s choices sting them a second time?

Huck took a sip of his soda and ran a napkin over his lips. "So how’ya been, Arianne?"
Making small talk before he cut her throat. Nice tactic. "Fine. You?"
"Good. Been real busy." He tugged his long sleeves up to his elbows, revealing tanned forearms. A result of his southern DNA, she was sure.
For the next ten minutes, in between bites of juicy lobster meat, he filled her in on his wonderful life since high school. It was just what she wanted to hear. Felt like old times.
"What do you do now?" Arianne tucked a wayward strand of hair behind her ear and scolded herself for carrying a grudge over something that happened so long ago. People change. She had.
He finished his bite and rested his elbows on the table, his perfect lips shiny with butter. "I’m a beekeeper. Run my own honey farm in Summerville."
Made sense. He’d always been able to charm anything into doing his bidding.

My review:

Its not often I want to knock some sense into a character in a book, but Huck is one of those times. He's just a little too stubborn for his own good. Fortunately Arianne is just as stubborn and won't take no for an answer. Toss in a cute child who loves Mr. Huck and you have a story that will keep you reading far later than you ought too.
I recieved an ARC which has in no way influenced this review.
